State-of-the-Art Community Hub
Mike pushed ahead with the purchase of the Christine Sinclair Centre – Burnaby’s central hub for athletics, community gatherings, and wellness – opening up the former private facility to all residents.

Three New Community Centres
Mike spearheaded the construction of three new community centres to serve Burnaby’s growing population:
- Burnaby Lake Recreation Centre will be the largest aquatic centre in Western Canada and feature a 10-lane, 50 metre pool, a 6-lane 25 metre pool and an NHL-sized rink.
- Cameron Community Centre and Library will be replaced and expanded to include dedicated youth and seniors' spaces.
- Brentwood Community Centre will serve one of the fastest growing neighbourhoods in the city.

A New Community Theatre
Mike supported the replacement of the James Cowan Theatre at the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts with a new 364-seat modern performance venue.
